Susan HutchersonMEET SUSAN.

Susan Martin Hutcherson is a third generation farmer and operates Hutcherson Family Farm produce with her husband Bobby and the help of their son, Lincoln. There are over 20 acres of gardens where they grow a variety of fruits and vegetables. Susan has been with the Franklin County Farmers’ Market for 22 years and also sells her produce daily in Owen and Woodford County Farmers’ Markets.

FARM FUN FACT: Most of our gardens are on raised beds with black plastic irrigation drip system, which waters produce from the root up. This also allows us to have produce 3 weeks or so earlier.

SUSAN’S NEW VISITOR TIP: Most vendors can make change, but it gets tough when a lot of people pay for a few dollars of produce with a twenty dollar bill. Bring small bills when you visit the market for an easier transaction.

CUSTOMER FAVORITES: Tomatoes, triple sweet corn, green beans, strawberries, watermelons, cantaloupes, sweet onions (to name a few!)

WHY SUSAN VALUES FARMERS MARKETS: Farmers’ markets are important for the social gathering and to support each other. When you come to the market, you meet friends, get to know local farmers and build a relationship with each other. And when you’re supporting our business, you’re supporting your neighbors.

It’s peak time for corn, tomatoes, and other produce – and Hutcherson’s sells in bulk, too! Visit Susan at the Franklin County Farmers Market on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7am-12pm. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for the latest farm updates by liking Hutcherson Family Farm Produce.
